It is sometimes difficult to determine which journals use outside reviewers to help evaluate submitted articles. The Pennsylvania State University Architecture & Landscape Architecture Library has begun a process of contacting editors of journals for architecture and landscape architecture, to determine whether or not feature articles are sent to external jurors for review before publication. Editors were asked who reviews submissions (external readers or the editorial staff) and if authors names are kept confidential (blind review.)
