On September 20, 2002, Penn State library adopted Pinyin as its transliteration scheme for Chinese records and the basic conversion from Wade-Giles to Pinyin is completed. For users who are familiar with Wade-Giles schedule, please find Correspondence Table of Wade-Giles to Pinyin at:

Both OCLC and RLA have finished converting Chinese language records in their union catalogues WorldCat and RLIN in E-Resource List, therefore, pinyin should be used when conducting searches. Original languages scripts, such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean can be displayed in RLIN and WorldCat.
