State Statutes

Electronic Resources

WestLaw Campus
Before clicking "GO" to start the search, be sure to select "State Statutes: Pennsylvania". This is an electronic version of Purdon's Pennsylvania Statutes Annotated.

LEXIS-NEXIS Academic - Follow these menu items, in order:

  1. Legal Research
  2. State Codes
  3. Pennsylvania
  4. Change "Source:" selection to "Pennsylvania Code"
"Pennsylvania Code" is a misnomer in LEXIS-NEXIS Academic, where all state statutory codes are labeled as "[state name] Code". It is, in fact, the full text of Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes in electronic format.

Please note: In Academic Universe, each record consists of a single section ( § ) of the PA statutes. A single section is usually comprized of one or more brief sentences of text. The search result will present individual sections without the context of other sections with which they are associated. Users may want to start with a search in Academic Universe, then consult print versions of statutes to help them develop a clearer understanding of the statute as a whole.
