The Schreyer Business Library is providing convenient on-site research consultation services in Smeal College's business building, Mondays through Thursdays, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. during Fall and Spring semesters. We are located in the atrium on the first floor, directly across from the central staircase. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to stop by during these hours for any type of research assistance.
Librarians will continue to provide research support in the Schreyer Business Library, 3rd Floor Paterno Library, and through email, telephone, and instant messaging.

Penn State Career Days are beneficial for all students - freshman through seniors. Younger students gain exposure to careers and explore internships, while seniors network and pursue full-time positions. This seminar will provide students with strategies to get the most out of career days. Specifically, students will learn what to do before, during, and after the career days to maximize their success.

demands of a global economy--
forced to log more hours in the process--it's becoming
increasingly difficult to balance life
and work.
Judy D. Olian is dean of Penn State's Smeal College of Business, professor
of management,
and a management speaker and consultant. Author of numerous articles
and book contributions,
Olian also writes a regular newspaper column. In this
session she will discuss the elusive search
for work/life balance.

A recent New York Times article estimates that almost 80 percent
of graduating college
students nationwide have done an internship, paid or unpaid.
An internship is a valuable way to
explore careers and gain job experience.
An internship can increase your chances of obtaining a
job after graduation.
Robert Orndorff, Associate Director of Career Services and Affiliate Assistant
Professor, Penn
State, will provide an overview of the internship process. In
this session he will discuss the
importance of internships, provide tips on
obtaining or searching for internships, explain how you
can make the most of
an internship, and direct you to sources of internship sites.
