Capital Machines are products of the manufacturing industry. The manufacturing sector as a whole is comprised of companies engaged in the mechanized, physical, or chemical transformation of raw materials into finished or semi-finished goods. There are several barriers preventing entry into the manufacturing of machinery. The most significant being the investment of capital for the gargantuan one-time fixed cost to construct factories and purchase their own capital machinery.
There are two very distinct categories of machinery in this sector: general purpose machinery and specialized machinery. Several variations of machinery extend from these two distinct categories and implement scores of functional tasks in an array of industry applications.
General Purpose Machines: possess functions beneficial in a variety of applications in several industries because they are able to perform multiple tasks

| • | Metal working machinery |
| • | Engine, turbine, and power transmission equipment |
| • | Other general purpose machinery manufacturing |
Special Purpose Machines: operate in a specific application within a particular industry. The particular industries breakdown into three distinct sectors:
| • | Agricultural Machinery |
| • | Construction, and Mining machinery |
| • | Industrial Machinery |
