Works A Crucial Element in Educating America
The electronic version of Fair Use of Copyrighted Works,
a pamphlet published by the Consortium for Educational Technology
in University Systems (CETUS).
It was put together by the Working Group on Ownership, Legal
Rights of Use and Fair Use of the CSU-SUNY-CUNY Joint Committee.
It also contains links to fair-use guidelines and other
resources that are intended to promote a fuller understanding
and appreciation of copyright laws.
TRLN Model
University Policy Regarding Faculty Publication in Scientific and Technical
Scholarly Journals
In 1993, the Triangle Research Libraries Network (TRLN)
completed a model policy that proposes an alternative
to the current practice of routine transfer of copyright by faculty to publishers.
This statement was developed by the TRLN Copyright Policy Task Force, made
up of faculty, librarians, and university press editors from Duke University,
North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill.
