If you search the Cat via the traditional advanced search interface, you can limit the library to Special Collections, your material type to "Archives & Manuscripts" (or whatever type is appropriate to your search), and, if you wish, you can further limit (by location) to an administrative unit or named collection.
3 .When searching our finding aids, be sure to try synonyms if your keywords don't return satisfactory results. Some collections that will be highly relevant to, for example, African American history, will be found by searching for "black history."
