Video Footage
The
Eighth Air Force Archive collection of video documentaries
includes actual gun camera footage of the 355th Fighter Group
in the VIIIth Fighter Command. Digitally preserved here are
three short collections of clips from the late months of 1943
to March of 1944. These clips demonstrate operations in
the strategic bombing campaign. The clips are in RealMedia™
format and can take several minutes to open, depending on

Oral
Histories Audio Collection
The
Eighth Air Force Archive holds a number of audiotapes of
servicemember's oral recollections and histories. Provided
here in RealMedia™ format are three recordings of Al
Brown, a pilot from the 8th Airforce who was part of the
first bomb crew to finish with the original members from
mission one of their tour of duty. Not only was Brown the
first to fufill the twenty-five mission requirement with
his original crew, none of his team were ever injured in
combat. The collection offers three segments of his recordings
which describe his first and second missions over Berlin,
and his remembrances of his plane and crew. Click on
