Programs at Penn State

Educational Psychology
The Educational Psychology program at Penn State is divided into two main areas of concentration: Learning and Instruction and Educational Measurement. The program confers graduate degrees of Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Requirements for the Masters of Science degree differ, depending on whether the student completes a thesis. The doctoral program consists of courses in four areas: core courses in Educational Psychology, methodology courses, elective courses, and research experience.

School Psychology
The School Psychology program at Penn State is rooted in both psychology and education. Graduates from the program are professional school psychologists who are able to deliver professional psychological services in a Psychological Service Unit. The program confers graduate degrees of Master of Education (M.Ed.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). All candidates are required to complete a thesis.

The ERIC database is the world's largest source of education information, containing over one million abstracts on education research and practice. ERIC covers two types of literature:

The International Encyclopedia of Social and Behavioral Sciences is the online equivalent of the 24 volume encyclopedia published in 2002. Mental Measurements Yearbook
Mental Measurements Yearbook, produced by the Buros Institute, contains full text information about and reviews of all English-language standardized tests covering educational skills, personality, vocational aptitude, psychology, and related areas as included in the printed Mental Measurements Yearbooks.
