Find Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education

The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education was developed to support research and policy analysis in Higher Education. The 2005 update is the sixth revision since the first edition in 1970. With the 2005 revision, the single classification system was replaced by a set of multiple, parallel classifications. The original classification framework­now called the basic classification ­has also been substantially revised.
