World Bank e-Library records added to The CAT

Over 1,800 records for individual titles in the World Bank e-Library have been added to The CAT. An extensive collection in the area of social and economic development, the World Bank e-Library includes works on agriculture and rural development, banking, finance, current affairs, data publication, development economics, education and training, energy, industry, mining, environment, pollution prevention, gender, health, water supply, poverty, technology, and globalization.A Browse search (i.e., begins with) of series or title with the string "World Bank e-Library" will retrieve the records.

ISI's Journal Citation Reports available

We now have access to JCR - Journal Citation Reports, which reports the impact factor of journals indexed by ISI (the publisher of Web of Science).

Nature Archive complete.
The complete backfile of the journal Nature is now available to researchers. Nature, a premier scientific journal, began publication in 1869.

RefWorks Pilot
The Libraries has arranged for access to the bibliographic software, RefWorks, through June, for the Penn State community. Please give it a try and let us know what you think.

AGU backfiles increased

We now have access to more of the AGU journal backfiles. As AGU scans their older journals, they will become available to Penn State users. Currently AGU has scanned Journal of Geophysical Research back to v.54 1949. Reviews of Geophysics is available from v.1 1963 to date. Titles and issues may be browsed at the AGU digital library webpage.

Digital Newspaper Collections Acquired

As part of a CIC initiative, the Libraries has purchased online access to the British Newspapers 1600-1900 collection and Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers collection. Along with the America's Historical Newspapers collection, we now have extensive retrospective coverage of English-language news sources.

Springer E-Books Available

As part of a CIC initiative, the Libraries has purchased online access to books publisher by Springer from 2005-2010. The titles are accessible via the SpringerLink website. Some books distributed by Springer will not be included. Also excluded are German language publications, International Tables for Crystallography, book series Landolt Bornstein, and Methods titles (Methods in Molecular Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, and Toxicology).

Faculty Photocopy Service

The Libraries now offers a free service to deliver articles to faculty members' desktops for materials owned by Penn State. The service uses ILLIAD, the interlibrary loan software. There is now a link in ILLIAD to "Request items owned by Penn State".

Science Rejoins JSTOR
The AAAS, publisher of Science, has reached an agreement with JSTOR to continue to make the backfiles of Science (through 2002) available to current and future JSTOR members.
