Reserves

How to Place Materials on Reserve:

Course reserve lists may be submitted by sending an email to ems@psulias.psu.edu. Lists can also be submitted via the online web form, or you can mail them to the EMS Library,105 Deike Building. Please include the following information for each course you are teaching:

  • Course name/number/section (eg., EARTH 002)
  • Instructor's name
  • Instructor's office address, phone, and email
  • Title, author, and publication date or edition of item(s)
    • if the item is not owned by the Libraries, publication information would be helpful
  • Most materials are placed on 2-hour reserve; if you prefer an overnight or 3-day reserve period please indicate so.

Note: The Library will provide 3-ring binders for loose-leaf material.

Please provide this information as soon as possible prior to the beginning of each semester. We strive to make reserve materials available as quickly as possible; however, it takes approximately 2 weeks to retrieve materials that are in use. It takes longer if the library must purchase the material.

It is the responsibility of the instructor to provide copies of course packets for reserve. The Library does not purchase these materials.

Please note that the Library cannot be held responsible for personal copies of material that are lost, damaged or stolen while on loan to patrons.

Information about having the full text of your course reserves available via the web can be found at Placing Material on Electronic Reserve.
