    Patents

The University Libraries is a patent depository. The print collection is located in the PAMS Library in Davey Lab. The  University Libraries at Penn State maintains a Web site on patent information which should be checked for evaluated patent information. There is also a very useful tutorial. Additional useful links include:

    Standards

Standards from a variety of sources are located on the Web. Some sites are full text, others have indexes and ordering information. Several sites include excellent lists of standards Web sites. These include:

    DOD Standards

    Index of Standards

ANSI  - American National Standards Institute

Many societies and government agencies have web sites which lists catalogs of standards and ordering information. In addition, there are a number of commercial companies that have web pages to make location and ordering of standards easier.

Full text access to standards from the American Society for Testing and Materials

Full text access to standards from the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

Document Center Commercial site to order standards and specifications

Information Handling Services Commercial site for ordering standards and specifications
