IEEE
whoInstitute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, IEEE, is an international  society dedicated to the advancement its subject areas.  There are over 350,000 members world wide,  making it one of the largest professional organizations in the world.

whatBooks - IEEE presses produce a wide range of titles in electrical, electonics and computer science books.

Conferences - IEEE sponsors or co-sponsors hundreds of conferences each year. These are collected in over 400 print conference proceedings each year.  In addition, onference papers published since 1988 are available in full text format on the IEEE Electronic Library located on the LIAS Fast Track.

Journals - IEEE published more than 100 journal titles, including the Proceedings of the IEEE (TK5700.I6).

Standards - IEEE is responsible for over 800 standards on the range of topics covered by  the society.

whyAs one of the leading engineering societies, IEEE is responsible for a significant percent of the publications on computer, electrical and electronics engineering.  With the release of the IEL (IEEE Electronic Library) searching its publications and obtaining full text materials (1988-->) is at the desktop.

whereThe CAT -  provides access to entire items.  Search by conference title or editor, book title, author or editor, standard title or journal title.

IEL - The IEL provides indexing to the conference papers, journal articles, and standards published by the IEEE or by IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers, a U.K. based society) from 1988 to the present.  In addition, the full text is available online for reading, printing or downloading.

Compendex - Coverage included journal articles and conference papers.  Search  by author , title words of the journal article or conference paper, keywoods, or subject terms.  You may search from 1970 to the present in Compendex,  however, it is recommended that you search in IEL from  1988 to the present as the full text of the journal articles, conference papers and standards are in this database.

howThe CAT provides access to entire items.  Search by book title, author or editor, or journal title. Conferences are more challenging.  Often the way in which a conference is cited in a database is not the way it is cited in the CAT.  Try the title as you have ii but if that doesn't work, use a partial title and do a key word search on those words.  Conference searching gives additional hints.

Remember, if the conference is published in 1988 or later, it will probably be in the IEL  in full text.

Many of the IEEE journals begin with   "IEEE."  Examples include IEEE Spectrum, IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, etc.  However, indexes and bibliographies may or may not include the IEEE in the beginning of the title.  Be flexible when searching; include the IEEE but if the title  isn't found, search  without IEEE or try a key word search in a similar manner to the conference searching hints.
