The Engineering Library

The Engineering Library is located in 325 Hammond Building. The library houses research-level collections of books and journals in all engineering disciplines. The library also owns over 500,000 technical reports from government agencies such as NASA, and the U.S. Departments of Defense and Energy. Many of the Engineering Library's journals are available electronically, permitting easy access for students, faculty, and staff from home or office. Thousands of technical society papers can be found in the library, with large collections from SAE, ASME, AIAA, SPIE, and SME. Selected industrial standards from societies such as ASTM, ISO, IEEE, ANS, and AGMA are available. There is a very large collection of handbooks, encyclopedias, and dictionaries in the Engineering Library. These reference works allow one to find many types of numerical and material property data, as well as basic information on a multitude of topics. The library's recently acquired books are prominently displayed in a "new book" shelving unit. College of Engineering Dissertations are housed in the library, as are a number of videotapes and DVDs on various engineering-related topics. The library has photocopiers and microfilm and microfiche readers, printers, and scanners. Help in using the collections or equipment is always available at the public service desk.
