Grand Staircase

The Grand Staircase

The Grand Staircase is part of the original construction of Pattee Library, which was completed in 1938. At the top of the stairs you will find the Gray and O'Toole Family Arts and Humanities Reference Foyer on one side, and the Paterno Family Humanities Reading Room on the other. The stairs are an excellent example of architecture from this period. They are constructed from black marble, and the coffered ceiling above the second floor landing is exquisite. The Grand Staircase is located near the central Pattee entrance.
