Paterno Family Humanities Reading Room

The Paterno Families Humanities Reading Room

The Paterno Families Humanities Reading Room was once Pattee Library's first reference room. This area, located on the second floor of central Pattee, dates from the original 1938 construction of Pattee Library. Later, the room housed our maps and documents collection for many years. During the recent renovation, with the Paterno family's suggestion, this area was reborn as a reading and study room. The design for this area was derived from images of a New York Public Library legal collections room. All of the woodwork and the furniture are new, with seating for four hundred patrons. In each of the green-shaded lamp bases, there is a data port for use with laptop computers. This area is also configured for wireless computing.
