The sculpture entitled, "Knowledge is Eternal," is on display in Paterno Lobby. It was created by artist and actress Hazel Court Taylor. Born in England, Court made her debut in American films in the 1940s. Much of her film work has been in the horror genre, but she is also noted for her appearances in numerous popular television series from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Some of her most popular films include The Masque of the Red Death (1964), The Raven (1963), and the 1957 version of The Curse of Frankenstein, in which she starred. In 1964 she married Don Taylor, a Penn State alumnus, who studied speech and drama, and went on to become a successful actor, writer, and director. Court Taylor, who lives in California, now focuses her talents on the visual arts. A sculptor and painter, she has exhibited works in Europe and America. |
