Commemorative Plaques

The Commemorative Plaques

In the hallway connecting central Pattee to west Pattee, several plaques feature the names of staff and patrons who have contributed to the Libraries. The Commemorative Plaques honors individuals, corporations, and foundations whose cumulative gifts to the Libraries total $20,000 or more.

In addition, there are several plaques commemorating the "Building for the Future Campaign" for the Libraries. This campaign, which started in 1993, was a highly successful fundraiser for the renovation and refurbishment of the Libraries.

Also featured are two plaques dedicated to honoring outstanding Libraries employees. The University Libraries Award is given annually to a library faculty member whose efforts have been exemplary. It was first awarded in 1974. The Margaret Knoll Spangler Oliver Libraries Award is also given annually, and recognizes an outstanding Libraries staff member. It was first awarded in 1996.
