View this location on a Libraries map (Close map window to return to the Virtual Tour)
Located on the first floor of central Pattee, this exhibit showcases the "Original Nittany Lion", the inspiration for our official Penn State mascot. The lion has a rich and fascinating history, which you may learn about using our new touch-sensitive computer kiosk. The kiosk also gives information about Penn State sports history, and features an interactive quiz about campus lore. If you would like to learn more about the Nittany Lion, we have a book entitled, The Nittany Lion: an Illustrated Tale, written by University Archivist Jackie R. Esposito, and Steven Herb, head of the Education and Behavioral Sciences Library. |
