Using NetLibrary Through Penn State

Penn State now has access to books on-line through NetLibrary.  Records for NetLibrary books are loaded into the CAT so you will see them as you search for titles. There is also an entry for Net Library on the E-Resource List A-Z.  Links for both of these can be found at http://www.libraries.psu.edu. Because access to NetLibrary material from the CAT does not go though the proxy server, you will need to set up an account on NetLibrary through the link on the E-Resource List before you click through on a URL from the CAT.

In addition, Adobe Reader should be configured so that it opens within the browser window and NOT in a separate window. If it opens in a separate window, you may only be able to view the first page of each bookmarked section in the ebook. NetLibrary uses its own browser controls to allow paging through the ebook.

If you have this problem you can set the correct settings by opening Adobe Reader (7.0) and:

--Clicking Edit > Preferences;

--Selecting the "Internet" Category;

--Checking "Display PDF in browser;" and

--Clicking "OK"
