University Libraries Open Faculty Positions

The past few years have been very exciting at the Penn State University Libraries. We have completed two major building projects, one at University Park and another at our Harrisburg campus. We are planning a number of major renovation projects at several of our other campus locations. The Dean of the University Libraries has implemented many new projects and initiated a major reorganization. One result of this reorganization is a number of internal promotions. We are also undertaking a number of exciting initiatives and projects. As a consequence we have a number of faculty librarian positions open. Penn State University Libraries place diversity among our core values and encourage applicants who can contribute to the community. We are looking for energetic and creative librarians who can contribute to building the services and collections of the future.

Librarians at Penn State have full faculty status. Successful candidates will be expected to be active in research, scholarship and service as faculty members at Penn State. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience. Salaries are based upon experience, education, and position responsibilities. Excellent fringe benefits include liberal vacation, excellent health/medical insurance, State or TIAA/CREF retirement options, and education privilege.

Penn State University Libraries hold membership in ARL, OCLC, CIC, CRL, and the Digital Library Federation. Collections exceed five million volumes. The University Libraries are located at University Park and 23 campuses throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
