Placing Materials on Electronic Reserve
Electronic
Reserves (E-Reserves), our
on-line reserve system, provides Web access to Course Reserves for your
students via the CAT. These materials, available 24 hours a day,
can be accessed
from any computer.
To place materials on Electronic Reserve (E-Reserve):
1. Bring
photocopies
to the Circulation/Reserve Desk if scanning is necessary. Files
may also be sent by email to
ereserves@psulias.psu.edu Please
note that
photocopies are not required for full-text articles available through
ProQuest,
JSTOR, other databases, or websites.
2. Submit Request for Course Reserves
Use the E-Reserve request form .
3. Our library staff will scan and process your photocopies. The length of time
to process the E-Reserves will vary on the volume of submissions.
Submit only clean, legible photocopies for scanning. The quality of the scanned document is almost entirely dependent on the quality of the submitted photocopy.
The materials that we can put on E-Reserve (following copyright guidelines) include:
· Photocopies of a chapter(s) from a book if the total number of photocopied pages is less than 15% of the entire book. (Selections from some anthologies may not be accepted.)
· Photocopies of journal articles as long as there are no more than two articles from the same issue of a journal to be placed on reserve.
· Exams, syllabi, course notes, etc. Provide citation information only when submitting material from copyrighted sources.
· Public Web sites or documents which are freely available. Provide the site/document URL on the “Citation Information” form. Be advised that theses sites are subject to change at any time and access to such sites cannot be guaranteed by the Reserves Department.
Please note:
More information about reserves, including copyright policies, can be found at the Mont Alto Campus Library Circulation/Reserve Desk. Contact Peggy Angelovich at 717-749-6182 or by email at mka11@psu.edu.
