Placing Materials on Regular Reserve
To place books, videos, other A-V items, or class exams on Regular Reserve:
1. Submit Request for Course Reserves
You may use the request form, Print and submit to the library
2. Bring the materials to be put on reserve to the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
All these materials will be put on “2-Hour Reserve - to be used only in the library” unless otherwise specified.
Materials will be processed as quickly as possible in the order in which they are received. Allow for one week’s time at the beginning of the semester.
Materials accepted for Reserve:
Library-owned
Materials: Any
regularly-circulating materials from any
Instructor-owned items and photocopies: Faculty may bring in their own materials to place on reserve. Please note that we strive to comply with copyright guidelines when doing this. The materials that we can put on reserve include:

Notes:
1. A “Penn State University Libraries” barcode label, as well as other reserve labels, will be put on each personal item to identify it as “reserve material”. Please note that the library cannot be held responsible for personal copies of materials that become lost, damaged or stolen while on loan for patrons.
2. All photocopied materials must include complete citation information in order to be placed on reserve. Forms are provided at the Circulation/Reserve Desk or may be completed online.
3. Photocopied
materials may
also be placed on “E-Reserve”
(Electronic Reserve), which provides Web access to Course Reserves for
students
and faculty via the CAT. Theses can be accessed from any computer
using
an Access ID and password and a current Adobe Acrobat program. The
copies put
on E-Reserve will be checked for copyright clearance
automatically by
the staff in the Reserves Department at
4. The instructor must pick up all reserve items at the end of the semester.
