Instructors may put books, articles, notes, old exams, cd-roms or other items on reserve in the library for use by their students. You can see what an instructor has put on reserve for your class and access any electronic reserves for that class in the following manner: 1. Go into the CAT. You can get there from the side navigation bar on any of the pages on the Blissell library web site. 2. You must log in using your Access ID and password, which are the ones you use for your Penn State e-mail. Don't know your Access ID and password? Go the computer center to find out what they are, and in the meantime, you can use the computers in the library to see course reserves. 3. Click on the dark blue "Course Reserves" tab as shown below: |

4. On the search page, type in the course number (ex. NURS 457), course name, or instructor name and then click on the search that corresponds to what you put in. (See illustration below.) If you hit enter, the default is to search by instructor name, so if you put in NURS 457 and hit enter, you will not find anything.
5. If the items are physically located in the library, they can be checked out for whatever period is specified by the instructor (2 hour, 3 day, etc.). If they are electronic reserves, you can click on the light blue "Detail" button to get into the individual record, then click on the link provided to access the content
