Opening of Charles L. Blockson Collection

More Information: Penn State has recently acquired the Charles L. Blockson Colle
ction of African-Americana and the African Diaspora, an important assemblage of some 10,000 volumes relating to African-American, African, Latin American and Caribbean history and culture. Everyone is welcome to attend this event, which will be followed by a reception in the Mann Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library. The reception is also being held to celebrate Penn State's Black Alumni Reunion, and will offer an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, enjoy programs and discover the African-American legacy at Penn State. Graphic Novel Speaker Series presents Howard Cruse

Seminar on accessible online course design

More Information: "Access to All: Create Accessible Courses and Web Pages," is a free event for faculty, instructors, Web developers, instructional designers, students, and others involved in on-line course and Web design. The interactive seminar will focus on the need to make Web content usable and accessible, highlighting ways to universally design Web sites for all users, including individuals with disabilities.
The seminar will also be made available on Adobe Connect, where participants will have the opportunity to interact with presenters and ask questions. Seventh annual poetry reading celebrates Public Poetry Project

More Information: The Public Poetry Project focuses on poets with a connection to Pennsylvania and displays the poetry in public places to make it a part of the daily lives of a greater number of people. Since the project began in 2000, forty poems have been printed and placed in public places throughout Pennsylvania. (more)
