Worthington Scranton Appoints New Reference Librarian

University Park, PA—The University Libraries recently hired Jennifer Nace as reference and instruction librarian at Penn State Worthington Scranton. Nace joined the University Libraries’ faculty in September 2005 as a fixed-term, non-tenure-track faculty member. As a result of a national search this spring, she has now been appointed as a tenure-track faculty member, effective April 1, 2007.

Nace earned a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Sciences from Syracuse University, and is presently enrolled in its Certificate of Advanced Study in Digital Libraries program.  Previous to her position at Penn State, she was a librarian at Syracuse University, and at the State University of New York—Environmental Sciences and Forestry. She also has been a bookstore co-owner and senior partner in Seattle.

Nace is a member of the American Library Association, and serves as the editor of College and Research Libraries’ Women’s Studies Section newsletter. At the University Libraries she is a member of The CAT Interface Team, The Web Steering Committee, and participates in the Virtual Reference Service (VRS). At Penn State Worthington Scranton, Nace serves as secretary of the campus Senate, and is a member of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology committee (TLTAC).
