University Park, PABeginning the week of May 21, 2007 and continuing throughout the summer, access will be disrupted to the Pattee Library central stacks due to the installation of a sprinkler system. Each stack level will be closed for approximately three weeks as work progresses floor by floor. There will be no public access to collections and carrels on closed levels, during these periods.
Library users are encouraged to use the I WANT IT feature in The CAT, the online catalog, for the duration of the project. Pattee Library staff will retrieve materials on a two-hour rotation. Materials requested will be retrieved and held for pick-up at either Pattee Lending Services Desk or another location selected from the menu of options. You will receive an e-mail notice when the item is available for pick-up at your chosen location. University Park locations other than the Pattee Lending Services desk will receive materials within 24-48 hours of the request.
Throughout the project, stacks availability will be updated at "News and Alerts" http://www.libraries.psu.edu/ and in individual entries in The Cat. Signs will also be posted in the library. Users and especially carrel holders are urged to regularly check these information sites.
