Fred Waring's America Video on Penn State Live

University Park, PA—A short video on Fred Waring’s America, part of the University Libraries Special Collections, can now be viewed on Penn State Live, "In Motion, Channel 2." Film footage and photographs take viewers back to the big band era of the 1930s, while interviews with Fred Waring coordinator Eileen Akin and predecessor Peter Kiefer describe Waring’s important role in popular culture. Through his innovations on stage and in film, radio, and television, Waring was truly an all-round entertainer, and this is reflected in the rich collection of resources in Fred Waring’s America.

The video, which will also be shown at a later date on WPSU’s Pennsylvania Inside Out, can now be seen at http://live.psu.edu. Fred Waring’s America is located at Pattee Library, west, 3rd floor.  The Web site is: http://www.libraries.psu.edu/waring/.
