Book provides practical advice for electronic resource librarians
University Park, PA—New technologies are demanding a reexamination of issues and practices for librarians who manage electronic resources. To help, Rebecca Albitz’s new book Licensing and Managing Electronic Resources acclimates electronic resource librarians to the variety of responsibilities associated with the position.
The book informs readers about copyright law, successfully negotiating an agreement, and how to select and manage titles in the electronic resources portfolio. It offers practical advice for new electronic resource librarians as well as a reference to specific concepts related to electronic resource licensing. Written in a manner that a layperson can easily follow, Albitz’s book provides a framework so the new electronic resource librarian can learn the basics to effectively negotiate and manage their information resources.
Albitz is the electronic resource and copyright librarian at Penn State. With her knowledge on electronic resource licensing and copyright, Albitz has written extensively on film studies resources, media librarianship, and electronic resource librarianship.
