Upcoming Seminar on Genealogy Resources in University Libraries

University Park, PA -- The Penn State University Libraries' Arts and Humanities Library is offering the seminar "Genealogy and Family History Resources in the Penn State University Libraries" on Tuesday, April 30, 2002, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. in Foster Auditorium, 101 Pattee Library, University Park campus.

Free and open to the public, this seminar will provide an overview of the different types of genealogical resources—such as the United States census, military records, county histories, newspapers, and more—and the tools that can be used to locate information about individuals and families. The seminar will emphasize resources available in the Libraries as well as outside resources such as Web sites.

This class is part of the Subject Seminars series, organized by Libraries' Instructional Programs to teach how to use various databases and access subject-specific reference materials. For a list of other classes in the series, visit www.libraries.psu.edu/crsweb/instruction/ip/subject_sems.htm.

The seminar is free and open to the public. No registration is required for Subject Seminars. For more information about the series, contact Instructional Programs at 814-865-9257.
