Libraries Announce 'Inspiring' Exhibit

University Park, PA -- Books can make a profound difference in our lives. Mortimer Jerome Adler, educator and author of How to Read a Book, stated, "in the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you." Continuing June 9–August 25, "Books that Inspire" will be on display in the Diversity Studies Room, 109 Pattee Library.

Few inventions have had a greater impact on human society than the book. The development of the printing press made books one of mankind's first mass-produced products and contributed significantly to the diffusion of knowledge. "Books that Inspire" focuses on books in which the author's message has caused the individual to think and reflect. Books in this exhibit are those that have enlightened, inspired, or influenced the lives and careers of the readers.

Additional information about this exhibit can be obtained from Gateway Librarian Ashley Robinson, 814-865-5536, or University Archivist Jackie Esposito, 814-865-7931.
