Learn How to Organize the Penn State Way

University Park, PA -- Is the paper explosion overwhelming your office? Do you wonder what to do with all those computer files? Would you like someone to explain how to control the ever-present file menace? Join Jackie Esposito and Robyn Dyke, Penn State's Records Management team, for a free 1 1/2-hour seminar geared towards Penn State employees, but beneficial to the public as well.

Esposito and Dyke will explain the details of University policy AD-35 as well as teach you to use the retention schedules (General Forms Usage Guide Appendices 18 and 21) so that you will know how long to keep records. They will also give you time-saving tips for organizing and coordinating your records using color coding, date stamping, and subject identifiers. In addition, they will discuss the advantages of storage in the Inactive Records Center and the Penn State University Archives.

The seminar is scheduled for the following Tuesdays—February 4, March 4, April 1, and May 6, 2003—from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in the Mann Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library (just inside the Curtin Road entrance). Registration required. Contact Esposito (jxe2@psu.edu) or Dyke (rdc@psulias.psu.edu) with preferred date.
