News & Microforms Library Film/Video Viewing Room

The News & Microforms Library Film/Video Viewing Room can be used by groups of Penn State students and faculty to view film/video during the Libraries' regular and extended hours.
Equipment
The room is equipped with an all-region DVD player, all-region VCR, Epson LCD Projector (which projects to an 84"x 84" wall-mounted screen), and an all-region Panasonic Mini DV/DV Editing Player/Recorder. All equipment is operated from the technology podium keypad. See Using the Technology Podium for instructions (12.65K pub)
The room is part of the University's Wireless network. Personal laptops or those borrowed from the Libraries can be used wirelessly. The room includes a white board.
Seating/Capacity
The room seats 12 (comfortably) in meeting chairs with side-arm tablet tables. Stackable seating for an additional 10 seats is available in the room.
Reserving the Film/Video Room
Groups of 3 or more may request to reserve this room at the News & Microforms Library Reference Desk (Ground Floor Pattee Library), or by telephone (863-0377).
Note: Groups of 3 or more have priority use of the Film/Video Viewing Room and may reserve the room for a maximum of 3 hours per day once per week.
Please be prepared to provide your name and e-mail address as well as the names of the other people in your group when you make your reservation.
Using the Film/Video Viewing Room
The room is locked when not in use. The door key must be checked out at the News & Microforms Library service desk. Users must have their PSU ID with them to check out the key for the room.
After use, users are expected to lock the door and must return the key to the News & Microforms Library service desk.
An additional Video Viewing Room is available in the Music and Media Center (2nd Floor Pattee Library, West) and Group Study Rooms (without film/video equipment) are available in other locations throughout the University Libraries.
The Film/Video Viewing Room is supported by the Larry and Ellen Foster Communication Librarian Endowment.
