Newspaper Collections : Vision and Purpose Statement
The current newspaper collection housed in the News & Microforms Library includes more than 75 local, national, international and special interest newspapers from the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. These publications effectively extend the University's Newspaper Readership Program by providing a wide range of international and domestic newspapers. Drop by to read and browse our daily newspapers.
The News & Microforms Library also subscribes to many news databases which provide access to current and archived news stories in hundreds of domestic and international newspapers.
The broad range of interests and geographical areas covered in our current collection is mirrored in our historical newspaper collection, which includes microform holdings of over 500 publications, some dating back to the early 1700s. Early Pennsylvania newspapers are particularly well represented in this collection.
