VHS Tutorial Capturing From a VHS Tape: *Turn the "JVC Video Cassette Recorder" power supply on. Be sure to press the VHS button located on the right side. If you have done this properly a bar of green light will show up under the VHS slot on the machine. *Insert your VHS tape into the proper slot on the machine, and fast-forward or rewind it to the proper point. *Now double click the "Video Capture" icon on the desktop to launch the capturing software. *Click the record button located near the bottom of the window. This will bring up a new window. Locate the Options tab. Make sure "auto with no time limit" is selected. *Where it says 'File:' browse for the folder you want to save the video clip in, and give it a name. The name should end in '.avi' *Under the Advanced tab, make sure "pre-allocate the capture file" is NOT selected. *Click 'okay' to exit the window. *Press play on your VHS tape, and then click 'okay' to start the capture. *To stop capturing, press the Escape key. Also, press the stop key on the JVC to stop the VHS tape. *The program will now automatically begin playing back your clip. Press the stop key. *Go to File>Save As, and select the format you want to save the video clip in. It will take a few minutes to render the video.
