The Library   at Penn State Abington

The Penn State Abington Library's librarians and staff are available to help with all of your research needs. There are several options for obtaining help:

• Onsite: The reference desk is staffed during all of the library's operating hours.
• Phone: Call the reference desk at 215-881-7424.
• VRS: The university's Virtual Reference Service is available 51 hours per week. Click on the ASK! button anywhere you see it.

Librarians frequently teach course-related instruction sessions. Most of these classes are held in the library. The instructional classroom, room 10, can be found on the library's lower floor. Go down the stairs next to the reference desk. Room 10 is on the left side.

Librarians not only teach course-related sessions, but also offer specialized instruction for individuals and small groups. If you would like help with research for a specific subject, class, or assignment, stop by the reference desk or fill out the online instruction request form to schedule a session. You can also contact the library's instruction coordinator, Paula Smith, at pms20@psu.edu or 215-881-7462.

Librarians can also provide specialized instruction for faculty and staff members. Individuals, groups, or departments may wish to request tutorials on subject-specific databases. Contact Paula Smith at the above email address and phone number to schedule a session.

ProQuest Recording

This recording offers training on selected ProQuest databases available through the University Libraries, including ABI/INFORM (business and management), ProQuest Research Library, Newspapers, and the Historical New York Times. An introductory overview of the platform and databases is provided by a ProQuest trainer. Content, functions, and features are covered as well as tips for most efficient use.
