Adaptive Technology and Services
The University Libraries is committed to making its collections accessible to students, faculty and staff of Penn State University as well as residents throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the broader scholarly community.
Penn State faculty, staff, and students at all locations are eligible to borrow materials from all University Libraries locations. Interlibrary loan services for materials not available from the Penn State collections is offered to all Penn State students, faculty, and staff seeking materials in support of University sponsored research and teaching. In most circumstances, the library collections are available to any individual for use on site.
Residents of Pennsylvania may borrow materials from the circulating collection from any University Libraries location. A Pennsylvania resident library card will be issued at no cost. Alumni of Penn State University may borrow materials from the circulating collection from any University Libraries location. An alumni library card will be issued at no cost.
Audio-visual items housed at Media and Technology Support Services are available for use by patrons not affiliated with Penn State through interlibrary loan or, on a rental basis. Any individual may request that materials be borrowed from the University Libraries collections by contacting his/her local library's interlibrary loan offices.
Provides informational materials and related services to
University Libraries patrons. Staff are available to offer
assistance and answer questions during all hours of operation.
Makes course material available both within the Library and
online to students enrolled in Penn State courses. Assists
faculty with reserves-related technical and copyright issues.
Obtains material not owned by the University Libraries for
use by faculty, students and staff, and supplies loans and
photocopies of materials owned by the University Libraries
to other libraries worldwide.
Manages the collections' physical distribution and organization.
Off-site storage facilities for the management, organization,
distribution and preservation of library materials.
Assists disabled faculty, students, staff and library patrons
to retrieve and access information.
