Open House 2012
Access Services is participating in the Libraries 2012 Open House. Access Services' stop is in the Weltmann Lobby across from the Commons Services desk. In addition, there is a Stacks Tours and an online bonus activity for students. Students participating in the bonus activities are entered in a prize drawing. Adaptive Technology and Services also holds an Open House during this time.
Access Services Commons Desk Stop:
The stop will introduce students to the services offered at the CommonsServices desk, such as course reserves, circulating material, and library accounts. Students get their certificate stamped and have the option to participate in bonus activities.
Stacks Tour Bonus Activity:
Students will learn about how collections are arranged, call numbers, light timers in the stacks,"I want it," and alert them that theft happens. Somewhere along the tour they may hear a lion roaring. Students participating in the tour are entered in a prize drawing.
Online Bonus Activity:
The online bonus activity is placing 6 call numbers in correct order. Students participating in this online activity are entered in a prize drawing.
Adaptive Technology and Services:
AT&S holds an open house for students who use this service. The open house gives new students the opportunity to meet established students and become more comfortable with the services offered by AT&S.
