Associate Dean for University Park Libraries
Sally W. Kalin is Associate Dean of University Park Libraries, Penn State University, where she is responsible for overseeing the operations of all libraries at the University Park campus. Her responsibilities include collections, public and access services, instructional programs, public relations and marketing, and media and technology support services.
She works with the Dean and other administrators on budgeting, strategic planning, policy development, and personnel and facilities issues. She oversees the recruitment, development, and evaluation of over two hundred faculty and staff at University Park, and administers the promotion and tenure process for the librarians.
Sally has served as a member of the University’s Teaching and Learning Consortium, Web Strategies Team, E-Testing Committee, and as chair of the Palmer Museum of Art Advisory Board. She is the 2005 recipient of the Rosemary Schraer Mentoring Award.
Within the community, she serves on the Boards of AAUW (American Association of University Women) and the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Professionally, she has served on the Boards of the Pennsylvania Center for the Book and the Pennsylvania Library Association, and on the governing Council of the American Library Association.
