Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan is a service through which library materials not owned by Penn State Altoona may be requested and obtained from other libraries for use by currently registered Penn State Undergraduates, Faculty, and Staff.

How do I request an item through Interlibrary Loan?

In order to use Interlibrary Loan services, patrons must register with the libraries managment system, ILLiad(Interlibrary Loan Internet Accessible Database). This is a one time only registration.

 

What services does ILLiad provide?

 ILLiad allows the patron to:

  • create a personal profile

  • place requests

  • check on the status of requests

  • renew or cancel a request

  • access electronically delivered articles

  • access ILLiad from home, office, library

How will I know when my materials have arrived at the library?

You will be notified by email when Interlibrary Loan materials arrive.
