While we might be jealous that you're in Rome and we're not, we are still happy to assist you in any way that we can. Don't hesitate to contact us for help.
Even though you can have Journal Articles emailed and Library Books shipped to Rome, we are well aware of the fact that it is often difficult to determine if an item is really what you need without being able to see it. Also, the costs of shipping a book back to us can be a bit much if you really only needed a couple of pages or a photograph or two.
With that in mind, we don't mind being your 'eyes' over here in the stacks. We also have an 11" x 17" scanner that we can use to scan and email you a few pages or a particular floor plan, etc. from any of our books.
If you need to contact us, we recommend that you use our global email address, ul-arch@lists.psu.edu. You should receive an email acknowledging your request within one business day. Feel free to contact a preferred staff member if you like, but keep in mind that they may be out of the office.
When you do contact us, please don't skimp on the details. The more info that you give us, the better For example. If you are looking for information on the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers), including such details as 'it's in the Piazza Navona, across from Sant'Agnese' will be a big help. Keep in mind that what may seem obvious to you, could very well be oblivious to us.
Once again, don't hesitate to contact us for help. Don't be shy. The more you ask us, the more we can brag about it to our coworkers in other departments!
