Books in Pattee Library are moving

Why are you moving things around?

Books in Pattee Library are being rearranged to make a more user-friendly configuration and to alleviate overcrowding in some areas. The move involves books and journals in the stacks of Pattee Library. Some materials will go to temporary locations to facilitate the move. Other items will be moved directly to their new permanent locations.   We expect the process will take 6-8 months. The end result will be a central Pattee stacks that is more logically arranged and less crowded, making books and other materials easier to find and use.

How can I find what I am looking for?

Our collections moves website is updated daily.  You can track what has already moved and get a sense of which collections will be affected next.

Always an option, but especially during this time of transition, you are encouraged to use the "I Want It" button in The CAT (the online catalog) to request items.  With this option you will be notified when the material arrives, usually in 24 to 48 hours, at the pick up location you selected.

The CAT will be updated with the new locations, and all service desk staff can provide assistance.  Use the ASK a librarian service to send us a question in advance of your visit.

Questions and feedback about the project can be directed to Eric Novotny, collections coordinator, Arts and Humanities Library, at 814-865-1014 or ecn1@psu.edu.
