This award is given to University Libraries' faculty and staff in recognition of outstanding contributions to the University Libraries.

Criteria:
The award, consisting of a citation, a cash stipend, and a Nittany Lion statue, is given in recognition of the achievement of performance of any person holding an academic, staff, or technical service appointments, except Deans or Division Heads, in the University Libraries who meets one or more of the following criteria:
A. Professional contribution that has a significant influence on the operations of the Penn State University Libraries; or
B. Significant professional contribution that earns the respect of the University community for the Penn State University Libraries; or
C. Significant contribution to the profession that reflects achievement in librarianship at Penn State; or
D. Outstanding contribution to Penn State University Libraries as shown by continuing leadership and innovation.
Submit a Nomination:
Nominations must include the name, address, and position of the nominee along with:
- a supportive statement of eligibility based on the criteria
- at least two additional letters of support
Nominators MUST notify persons they intend to nominate for this award.
Recipients must agree to be available to attend the ceremony.
All nominations and supporting letters must be received by Friday, March 30, 2012. Nominations received after this date will not be considered in the awards process.
The presentation of this award, the Libraries' Diversity Award, and the Margaret Knoll Spangler Oliver Libraries Award will be held at a reception in the Charles W. Mann, Jr. Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library on Friday, May 18, 2012, from 2:30–3:30 p.m.
