Audio Search Tips

 

Streaming Audio


Streaming audio is available to Penn State University students, faculty, and staff. To access world music, folk music, blues, jazz, classical, and children's music:

Select Music Audio from the Databases by Title.

 

The CAT for Music

From the CAT

Change Material Type to Audio Material

Change In Library to your campus library (or search All)

Enter title, author or keywords in the search box

Use the I WANT IT button to request the item.

The screen shots below give a strategy for finding CDs or cassettes by using NOT to eliminate streaming audio and albums.

Use the "I Want It"  button to request the item.

There are a few tricks you can use to browse the Penn State audio collection.  Two are demonstrated below.  You will get slightly different results depending on which strategy you use. 

1) To browse the Abington collection, select Call number search (to the right in the CAT), change In Library to Abington and enter mca in the call number field. Use the I WANT IT button to request an item.

2) To browse recent additions to the Penn State audio collection (including Abington), select the CAT advanced search, enter the phrase read by or mcnaughton (see below), change material type to audio and enter a date range into the Publication Dates box.  Use the I WANT IT button to request an item.
