Vairo Library offers two floors for research, study, and technology support. The upper floor is the interactive area with large tables and computer workstations for group and individual study, a News Center with a browsing collection of newspapers and magazines, as well as live news broadcasts on two plasma TVs, and a Media Commons production studio for recording and editing podcasts, movies, and a wide range of multimedia presentations. The lower floor is designated as the quiet study area, equipped with private study carrels and individual computer workstations. Talking is not permitted in this quiet zone.
Both floors house the library's print, video and audio resources, which have been carefully chosen by campus faculty and librarians to support Brandywine course assignments. The library's University-wide online catalog and electronic databases offer access to millions of books and thousands of full text research articles via 80 computer workstations in four computer lab areas. Wireless computer access is available throughout the library. For help activating your wireless access, contact the Brandywine IT department.
The upper floor of Vairo Library also houses the STEM Lab, Brandywine Learning and the Writing Studio tutorial services.
If you have questions or need assistance, ask for help at the Vairo Library reference desk or circulation desk, or just stop a passing library staff member: Mary Fran McLaughlin, Susan Ware, and Mary Murray will be happy to help you at anytime!
