The librarians and staff of the Schreyer Business Library are committed to providing effective information resources and services, especially in terms of reference service, library instruction, and collection development.
Faculty and students must register with Lending Services before they will be permitted to borrow books. Please consult the Penn State Libraries' Lending Code for further details.
The University Libraries provide both print and electronic access to certain course materials such as class notes, exams, homework assignments, journal articles, books, and book excerpts/chapters.
Print materials are held at the Commons Services Desk, 105 Pattee Library (not the Schreyer Business Library). These materials are for library use only, or for limited circulation - usually 2 hours.
Some materials can be viewed or printed from electronic reserves, accessible online.
Faculty who need to place course materials on reserve:
The best access to Libraries' databases is through University Libraries' hyperlinks. These links are scripted through the University Libraries' proxy server to facilitate access for Penn State students, faculty, and staff.

Current Penn State faculty and students may use materials borrowed from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Please check the University Libraries' current holdings in The CAT and full-text electronic resources (see the Penn State Libraries' Databases by Title (A-Z List) before requesting materials.
The business librarians provide basic library orientation, advanced instruction, and hands-on demonstrations in information-seeking skills and the use of print and electronic library resources.
Depending on instructional needs, library presentations may be delivered in the class's usual meeting location or in library facilities, which include several demonstration/lecture rooms and a technology classroom with 34 workstations for hands-on seminars. Please contact a business librarian at least two weeks in advance to make arrangements.
The business librarians welcome the opportunity to work with faculty to develop library-based assignments or to review existing assignments in light of changes that have occurred in the location and availability of Libraries' resources.
We welcome your suggestions for new books, videos, and other materials that the University Libraries might purchase. You may contact the business librarians to discuss your needs and interests or use the Business Material Request Form online.
