If the cataloging of an item has been completed, update the Home location
Open the Check Item Status wizard
Click on the Current title info IF the barcode displayed matches the barcode of the item in hand; If the Current info isn't showing the correct barcode, scan or enter the correct barcode in the Item ID field
A new window will open showing the Current Status of Item 0000XXXXXXXX [barcode of current item]
Click on the Put Item In Transit button at bottom of window to change the Current location to INTRANSIT; an information window will open showing the title and barcode number of the item placed In Transit
Click OK to close the information window
If you have additional items to place In Transit, scan or enter them in the Item ID box and repeat the process
Click Close to exit the Check Item Status window
NOTES:
If you place the wrong item In Transit, use the Discharging wizard to update the Current location. You will need to modify your User ID first to associate it with the owning library.
DO NOT place patron request items In Transit
DO NOT place reserve items In Transit
Be aware that if a hold has been placed on the item for a library other than the owning library, it will go INTRANSIT to the library with the hold. (Some libraries prefer to receive their items before they go out to fulfill a hold.)
