Create or modify field 040 as follows:

  • For any original cataloging (defined here as any record created without copy for the item/edition in hand; edition copy qualifies as original, but not compare copy) add "PSt" in 040 |a.

  • For any record created (typed into the AddTitle template) and for all original cataloging, add "PSt" in 040 |c.

  • When importing matching copy, leave 040|a and |c as they exist in the record; they tell who did the cataloging and who input the record. When making changes to copy, add "|dPSt" at the end of the 040 field. The subfield "d" is repeatable.
