The mission of the Pennsylvania State University Libraries Cataloging and Metadata Services Department is to provide timely, comprehensive, and effective access to resources in support of the teaching, research, and outreach missions of the University. We aim to provide leadership in creating metadata and participating in cooperative cataloging programs to support international resource sharing. We are committed to providing a positive work environment with a diverse staff, fostering teamwork, open communication, respect, and empowerment.
The Cataloging and Metadata Services Department strives to provide creative, innovative, and quality services to the University, the Libraries, and the world of scholarship; to play a leadership role within the Libraries and in the profession on issues relating to resource discovery and metadata through collaboration, research, and instruction.
